Yume was a normal human woman with an undiagnosed disability that effected to way she lived her life. She lived with her partner and pet cat. They often struggled with money, they could barely afford food on their paychecks, let alone pay for Yume to get help with her medical issues. While scrolling the internet, Yume found an ad from a big science company looking to do research on how octopi interact with humans. They were paying a lot of money and it was a reputable company, so nothing could possibly go wrong, right?...
Yume was far from a normal woman. After a corrupt company left her with a mixture of human and octopus DNA, she could barely be considered a person. Her skin was slimy, her flesh felt too squishy, hell, she couldn't even see colors properly anymore! But even with all the downsides, she gained strange new abilities. Her she could grow back her limbs, change her hair color at will, and squish herself into spaces that wouldn't be possible for any regular human.... she couldn't let these newfound abilities go to waste. She made a vow to fight any and all forms of corruption until she no longer could. She promised to never let anyone be treated like someone's play thing, she would never let such a thing happen again.
